Poem out of Misery

Write your tears in neon colors
let them flow out of your window
Tie a cape around your heart
let it save the city like a superhero

If the Sun refuses to shine on you
befriend the stars
tell them all that feels heavy
show them all your scars

The Universe broke its promise. Maybe?
for, darling, your smile looks so sad lately
Priests will call your happiness a sin
let’s become sinners then, shall we?

There’s a café across the graveyard
They have a menu for the broken hearts
forlorn love stuffed in garlic bread,
blueberry muffins and everything that’s been left unsaid.
3 AM conversations with candy bars,
Hot chocolate and wish jars.

Paint sunset on your wall
dance in heels and fall
buy yourself a book
don’t observe, instead, just look

Not all pains need morphine,
you see?
the sooner you realise this,
the less in pain, you’ll be
until then, keep writing poems out of your misery.
