Yeh itne log kahan jate hai subah-subah,

dher si chamak, chahek chehre pe latkaye hue,

hansi ko bechkar, bemol vaky ke hathon shaam tak unhi thakano mein lautne ke lie,

yeh itne log kahan jate hai subah-subah.

Toofaani lehrein hon,

ambar ke pehre hon,

purwa ke daaman par,

daag bahut gehre hon,

Saagar ke manjhi,

mat mann ko tu haarna,

jeevan ke kram mein jo khoya hau,

paana hai.

patjhad ka matlab hai,

phir basant aana hai.

Sab apne dil ke raja hai,

sabki koi raani hai,

bahut saral hai kisne kitna dard saha,

jiski jitni ankh hanse hai,

utni peer purani hai.
